Hurricane Ida FEMA Assistance

Posted September 21, 2021

Dear Friend and Property owner,

The Commissioners and I are aware of the damage caused by Hurricane Ida. Many of you reached out to recount some of the serious issues this storm caused for your homes. I immediately advocated with the federal government to designate Hudson County a disaster zone. I am happy to report that after much effort, President Biden designated this area a disaster zone. This makes you eligible to apply for financial assistance from FEMA if your property was damaged.

Disaster survivors may apply for the Individuals and Households Program or check their application status at www.DisasterAssistance.gov. Via phone at 1-800-621-3362.

If you need help applying for assistance, FEMA representatives will be in Union City to assist:

Date:       Thursday, September 30, 2021
