PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on March 17, 2026 the Board of Commissioners of the City of Union City adopted a resolution authorizing the Union City Planning Board to undertake a preliminary investigation of property identified as follows:

as identified on the Official Tax Map of the City of Union City (the "Study Area") to determine if the property qualifies as an area in need of redevelopment.
The City of Union City Planning Board will be conducting a public hearing on June 23, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Union City High School located at 2500 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Union City, New Jersey to review and consider the preliminary investigation conducted of the aforementioned property pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 12A-6. A copy of the map delineating the boundaries of the proposed redevelopment area (the block and lot as noted above) and a copy of the redevelopment study entitled "Non-Condemnation Redevelopment Area Report 500 Central Avenue Lot 1.01 in Block 22 City of Union City, New Jersey" dated May 2026, prepared by David Spatz, PP, Community Housing & Planning Associates, 60 Friend Terrace, Harrington Park, New Jersey 07640 is on file in the office of the City Planning Board, 3715 Palisade Avenue, Union City, New Jersey and is available for inspection Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. on regular business days.
Any redevelopment area determination pursuant to the resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners shall authorize the City of Union City to use all those powers provided by the Legislature for use in a redevelopment area, excluding the Power of Eminent Domain (noncondemnation redevelopment area), to acquire any property in the delineated area. All persons who are interested in or would be affected by a determination that the delineated area is an area in need of redevelopment may be heard at the time and place scheduled for the hearing identified herein.
