Account Clerk/Library Assistant

This is a full-time position of 35 hours a week. The work hours include one evening a week and a rotating weekend schedule. This is a blended position that includes both Account Clerk AND Library Assistant responsibilities.
ACCOUNT CLERK:
Job Description: ability to perform a variety of routine, repetitive, non-complex clerical tasks which involve computing, classifying, verifying, and recording numerical data and the reconciliation of accounts, records, and documents to keep sets of financial records complete. The successful candidate does other related duties as required.
The successful candidate accomplishes the following:
- Checks and compares for completeness various types of documents such as vouchers, requisitions, invoices, bills and receipts.
- Examines vouchers to ensure that they have the necessary approvals and that data is arithmetically correct.
- Reviews financial data to ensure correct account and appropriation are cited.
- Reviews expense account for funding or budgetary limitations and refers discrepancies to the LibraryDirector.
- Maintains standardized doubte entry bookkeeping records involving making entries in journals and posting to ledgers and other records which entail only a few variations in the transactions recorded, clearly established guidelines exist for the actions required, and limited problems in identifying the proper account classification or in balancing and reconciling accounts.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Preferred experience: A successful candidate has a background in the use of QuickBooks Online with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with QuickBooks.
LIBRARY ASSISTANT
Job Description: under close supervision, performs a variety of routine nonprofessional library tasks. The candidate does other related duties as required.
The successful candidate will be able to accomplish the following:
Charges and discharges library material to users.
Answers patron inquiries pertaining to library materials, hours, and scheduled programs.
Helps patrons with basic computer needs {including printing, accessing email, and word processing).
Reviews library membership applications for completeness as to name, address, and similar personal identification, and records changes of such information.
Performs filing or shelving tasks involving the use of the Dewey Decimal Classification System and alphabetical filing systems beyond the initial letter of a word.
Locates required publications primarily based on call number.
Checks shelves to ensure materials are filed properly,
Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
This position provides a salary of $35,000-$40,000 based on qualifications & experience plus benefits.
