Commissioner Tilo E. Rivas was elected to serve as a member of the Commissioner in 2002 and has diverse experience in communications, journalism and business and has served on various boards and committees.

Commissioner Rivas ensures that local roadways are safe for motorists and pedestrians.

Tilo resides in town with his wife, Marianela, and is the father of two adult children.

Commissioner Lucio P. Fernandez was elected to the City Commission in 2006 and has a deep rooted history in the local community, having served on numerous boards and committees, including the Union City Redevelopment Board, Union City Day Care Program Board, Union City Board of Education, Union City Housing Authority, Union City Public Library Friends. Additionally, Commissioner Fernandez is committed to serving community-minded organizations that promote literacy and wellness.

Lucio is also heavily involved in the professional arts community as an author, performer and actor and resides with his wife Megan.

Commissioner Maryury Martinetti has been a Commissioner since 2004 and has worked to stabilize taxes for residents. Moreover, Maryury is a trustee for the ARC of New Jersey, which is committed to enhancing the quality of life of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Maryury resides with her husband Marty and two children.

Commissioner Christopher F. Irizarry has served the residents of Union City as a member of the local governing board since 2002 and has professional experience in many fields related to law enforcement, education and health.

Commissioner Irizarry currently serves as President and CEO of the North Hudson Community Action Corporation (NHCAC), which provides medical treatment to approximately 240,000 patients, annually.

As the Commissioner of Recreation, Parks and Public Safety, Chris works to provide recreational programs which offer constructive outlets for local youths.

Chris is a homeowner in Union City and resides with his wife, Keila, and their three young children.
